This piece captures the duality we often feel, the layers of thoughts and emotions that overlap within us. Through the double-exposure effect, the drawing visually represents a crowded, racing mind. Yet, with the subject’s eyes gently closed, there is a profound stillness—a moment of quiet where everything finally aligns. ‘Clarity of Mind II’ emphasize that even in the most chaotic moments of our lives, deliberately turning inward can help us anchor ourselves and find a clear, peaceful center.

Chukwuemerie Chijioke Anekwe (b. 1999), known as Chuky, is a Nigerian hyper-realistic and surrealistic artist based in Enugu. Self-taught in the monochrome rigour of charcoal and graphite, he utilizes double-exposure and visual fragmentation to map the internal psyche and convey human emotion. While his background in Geoinformatics and Surveying hones his eye for structure, his practice centers on themes of resilience, cultural heritage, and self-reflection. Anekwe’s work was featured at the 2025 Things Fall Apart Festival in Enugu and the 2026 +234 Art Fair hosted by SOTO Gallery in Lagos.
